Does Ozone Kill Odors?

There are a couple of ways to attack an odor problem.  The first of which is to look at the cleaning process being used.  This should be more than general cleaning.  Smells come from decomposition of organic residue that is slowing decaying.  Old pet urine deposits, spills, cooking, smoking, and general living in a home leaves a "Footprint" that can literally embed itself into every part of the home.

Studies Report that Ozone is not a Carcinogen

The Internet is filled with advice.  Some good, some of it is terrible.  However, random comments or blogs can literally say anything and make it sound like they really know what they are talking about.  We have placed several reports on this topic in the Business Section of the National Ozone Association website.  They are very interesting reading, because these are experts with degrees who have conducted very reliable projects.

Answering Fears abut Ozone Treatments

Whenever someone new hears about ozone, they seem driven to repeat the Boogie Man: story that "ozone is toxic and is a serious health concern."  This comes from an EPA statement based on a study that showed that ozone can cause respiratory irritation.  It is even speculated that there is a lethal level of ozone although no one has been known to die of ozone.  So, let's take all that one face value because it has some common experience that we can recognize.

Ozone Generators Review - Size Matters

Those seeking to go into the ozone business always run into the one common question.  "What kind of ozone generator should I Buy?"  There is a growing sense that buying a big machine is best, but let's think that through a bit.  While it is true in the odor removal and sanitizing business that "Bigger is Better" there are more things to consider when it comes to your purchases.  Basically, the volume of ozone output (measured in grams (g) or milligrams (mg) is diluted into the air.

How to Remove Cat Urine Smell

Cat urine is a constant problem.  All the focus seems to be on the kitty litter box, which is an obvious maintenance issue.  Cats and dogs will "spray" to mark their territory.  Dog and cat odors aren't always about the pet needing to go to the bathroom.  Obviously, male cats are worse about this habit.  If you take your pet out, you will notice this habit as they use this scent to let others know they are in the area.

Five Reasons Hotels Sholdn't Buy an Ozone Generator

Hotels are very concerned for the impression and safety of their facilities, and they are very willing to step up when they find an idea that really works.   Many hotels have heard that ozone clears out odors, sanitizes the room, and even kills the bugs that guests hate.  Often, a manager of a hotel reads an article like this one or has actually hired an odor removal service using ozone.  It doesn't take long before he considers buying an ozone machine and cutting our the middle man.

How Does Ozone Work on Odors?

Everyone wants to know, "Does it really work?"  The answer is "Yes, it does."   Ozone is a very effective odor elimination tool.  The process employed is called oxidation.  The most rapid form of oxidation is fire.  Another form is rust.  Odors like urine give off ammonia-type odors as bacteria feed on the dried urine.  It is a slow process that can take a long time.  What would happen if we could speed that process up a hundred fold?  We do not need to introduce more bacteria to speed things up.
