Kill Mold with Ozone
It is true that the right application of ozone will kill mold, but that is far too simple a statement. The critical factor is that it takes 400 ppm of zone for 6-8 hours to properly kill the mold. Here are critical reasons that ozone may fail to do the job.
Improper ozone generators … often too small
Failure to estimate the cubic feet in the treatment area to bring the right volume of ozone generators.
Infiltration of outside air that dilutes the PPM levels
High temperature and humidity reduce ozone production
So, it is often the case that an ozone treatment is incomplete not producing a full mold kill in the area. So, while ozone will kill mold, it takes a lot of experience to fully kill mold. Also, ozone will not remove the dark mold stains.
The best alternative to to ozone is another oxidizing product called CD Plus. This is a form of high-quality chlorine dioxide that can deliver exactly the right amount of power to fully kill mold in any situation.
Using a spray pump system and proper PPE to protect your face and breathing, add a 20 gram tablet of CD Plus to each gallon of water. The next task is to saturate all molded areas with the solution. Add one ounce of Soil Break to the mixture to achieve even better results.
If the molded areas are fully treated, the mold is certain to die. Then, the cleanup requires removing the dead mold, but be sure to find and cure the water leak because mold needs water to grow.
If you want to remove any dark stains on the wood, you will want to follow with a water mixture of Break the Mold (BTM), which is a powder add to water to bleach out the dark stains in a few minutes.
Whether professional or amateur, CD Plus is far more foolproof and requires a modest amount of PPE and instruction. The CD Plus store offer a free instuctional course for basic mold treatments.
